Abstract Zhuanta astyleoftraditionalSong-dancedrama,wascloselyrelatedtoTiao
XiaointheSongDynasty.Poetsalwayswrote“Zhuanta”intheformofTiaoXiao.“Zhuanta”
declinedfromthesouthernSongDynasty,whileTiaoXiaostillremainedthevestigeoftheliteral
materialof“Zhuanta”aslyricsofmusicalartform,however,withsomechanges.Whenprobing
intotherelationshipbetween“Zhuanta”andTiaoXiao,ifsettingSong-dancedramaasfunda-
mental,theconclusionshouldbethatTiaoXiaowasderivedfrom“Zhuanta”butdevelopedindi-
vidually:itsconnectionwithmusichadbeencutoff,anditstheatricalitywaslosttosomeex-
tent.ButifsettingCiasfundamental,theconclusionmaybethatTiaoXiaoembodiedsome
characteristicsof“Zhuanta”,andrefreshedthedevelopmentofCi.Eveniftheynolongermixed
togetherwithSong-dancedramaafterwards,itstillbroughtsomenewelementstotheformof
Ci.ThesetwoseeminglycompletelycontradictoryconclusionsshowusthedevelopmentofTiao
Xiaowhenitdepartedfrom“Zhuanta”intwooppositeways.
