Abstract:Inthepast35years,thecognitionandevaluationaredonefromthreeaspects,i.e.,
valuation,thoughtsontheproblemsanditssolutions.Researchersevaluatepublichistoryeduca-
tionfromcultivatingpeople,inheritingcivilizationandunderstandingthefutureofthenation,
whichattachesbothhumanisticfeelingsandpoliticalactingtopublichistoryeducation.However,
therearesomeshortcomingsinthelanguageandhistoricalconceptioninthepopularityofhisto-
ry,suchaserrorsinsomehistoricalfacts,chaosinviewsofhistory,inaccuratediction,over-
pursuitofinterestwithignoranceofenlightenment.Theacademiccirclemakesanin-depthself-
examinationandsomeconsensushavebeenformed.Firstly,principlesofpubliceducationneedto
beestablishedwhilemeansofcommunicationshouldbeupdated.Secondly,thequalityofsubject
ofpubliceducationshouldbeimprovedandspecializedtalentsshouldbetrained.Thirdly,public
historyshouldbedevelopedundertheexampleofforeigncountries.Inthefuture,criticismon
publichistoryeducationisstillneeded.Governmentsatalllevels,academicorganizationsandac-
ademicsocietiesshouldshouldertheirownresponsibilitiesandmaketheirduecontributions.Pub-
lichistoryeducationshouldservethepublicbutshouldkeepthebaselineofhistoryandeducation.
Historiansandnonprofessionalhistoriansneedtolearnfromeachotherandpromotethehealthy
developmentofpublichistoryeducation.
