Abstract:Ruralteachingsitescanguaranteeschool-agechildreninruralareatoreceivethe
compulsoryeducationconveniently.It’sofgreatsignificancetostrengthenruralteachingsites
constructiontoensureeachchildtohavethefairandqualityeducation.Interviewsaredonewith
localteachersfromeightruralteachingsitesinNcountyofSichuanprovince.Resultsshowthat
assmall-scaleschoolsinruralareas,theteachingsiteslivingconditionsarefacingwithmany
challenges,suchassurvivalcrisis,the“submissiveposition”,andtheneglectofeducationaland
socialbenefitsbecauseofthepursuitof“scaleefficiency”.Inordertostrengthenruralteaching
sites,“scalebenefit”thinkingmodeshouldbechanged,whileeducationalbenefitandsocialbene-
fitofruralteachingsitesshouldberespectedsoastocarryouteveryitemsofdailyworkinare-
alisticway.
