Fromamacroscopicviewofhistory,promotingthemodernizationtransformationofcivilizationhas
beenacommonendeavoroftheChineseintellectualcommunityinmoderntimes,andoneofthefocal
pointsofthedebateisthe“consciousness”ofculturalsubjectivity.“Consciousness”goesbeyondinheriting
traditionandreferstoanintegratedunderstandingofone’sown“history-reality-future”.Itsdistinctionari-
sestosomeextentfromtheuncertaintyaboutthefuture.Thispropositionnotonlyextendsthequestionof
“consciousness”raisedbytheMayFourthgenerationofintellectualsbutalsostimulatesaself-reflectiona-
mongChineseintellectualsduetotheconstantchangesintheworldorder.“Consciousness”becomesthe
startingpointforreconstruction.Thedistinctionofconsciousnessamongtheintellectualcommunityatthat
timeoriginatedfromtheconfusionoflatecomercountriesregardingtheirownmodernizationpath,with
multipleoptionsofbothadvantagesanddisadvantages,andinternalandexternaluncertainties.Asare-
sult,the“consciousness”oftheintellectualcommunityatthattimewasdifficulttoturnintoreconstruc-
tion,andthepathof“buildingmodernChinesecivilization”washardtodiscern.Italsoinheritsthelegacy
oftheCommunistPartyofChinaduringtheCounter-JapaneseWarperiod,namelythecombinationofthe
developmentofnewdemocraticculturewithChina’sactualsituation,insistingonthepowerofChinese
cultureasthebackboneandreestablishingChinaasthestartingpointforintegrating“consciousness”.The
Kuomintang’sadherencetothereinvigorationofEightVirtuesstrategyproducedlimitedresults,whilethe
CommunistPartyofChina,atthisimportanthistoricaljuncture,reneweditsinterpretationof“China”and
successfullyachievedintegrationof“consciousness”byfocusingonbothrealityandfuture.Additionally,it
respondstothevariousdisordersintheideologicalfieldattheturnofthe21stcentury.Inthecontextof
thedynamicdevelopmentofglobalcompetition,theCommunistPartyofChinarevisitsthenotionof
“buildingmodernChinesecivilization”,graspingitsowncivilizationalsubjectivityfromaculturalperspec-
tiveandadoptingnewinterpretationsanddefinitionsof“modernization”,“modernChina”,and“modern
civilization”basedonconcretepracticesofChinese-stylemodernization.
Intheexplorationofacentury,thedistinctionandintegrationofintellectual“consciousness”havein-
fluencedthedevelopmentofChina’spathandcontinuouslyreinterpretedanddefinedtheterm“China”in
thepanoramaofglobalmodernization.Theso-called“China-centric”perspectiveencompassesnotonlyChi-

naofthepast,butalsocontemporaryChinaandthefutureChina.Conversely,inthisnewstageofexplo-
ringChinesemodernization,Chinaisnolongerpassivelyreconstructing,butistransformingintoanac-
tivelyconstructingactor,strivingtoleadthewayfortheworld.Thisbroaderintegrationof“conscious-
ness”connectingpeoplesandregionsintheworldalsoprovideslastingmomentumandresilienceforChi-
na,allowingittomovebeyondengagingwithWesternmodernizationtosurpassingit.
Therefore,“buildingmodernChinesecivilization”isactuallyacompetitiveconceptproposedbyChina
asittransitionsfrompassivemodernizationtoactivemodernization.Itaimstomoreextensivelyintegrate
the“consciousness”oftheChineseintellectualcommunityintheeraofglobaltransformation,adjustment,
anddevelopment,andstrivestomakeitanother“newformofhumancivilization”comparedwiththe

Space,timeandextensionisthecentralproblemofmodernscience.Thedistinctionbetweenprimary
andsecondaryqualitiesconstitutesthefundamentalmetaphysicalbeliefofmodernscientificfounderssuch
asGalileoandDescartes.BysolvingtheproblemofGeometrization,GalileoandDescartesintendedtoan-
swerthequestionhowmathematics,inparticulargeometry,canapplytoamathematizednaturalworld.
Thesolutionexplainsthetruthfulnessofourknowledgeofnaturalworldbyattributingsuchprimaryquali-
tyasspatialextensiontonaturalbody,andinterpretsthesimilarityofthestructurebetweenourrepresen-
tationandnaturalthingsbasedontherepresentationalrealism,soastoexplainthetruthfulnessofhuman

Ts i.e.,spacedoesn’trepresentanydeterminationsofthing-in-itself.Spaceisonlytheintuitiveformof
ouroutersense,andthing-in-itselfarenon-spatiality.Kantneedstorebuildthefoundationofmodernsci-
ence.BecauseaccordingtoTs,extensionisnotthepropertyofnaturalbody,butthepropertyofmind,
thoughKantremainsregardingextensionasprimaryqualities,andmathematicsasthescienceofstudying
extension.However,accordingtoTs,theconclusionsstudyingextensionfrommathematicsonlyapplica-
bletobodiesinourmind,nottonaturalbodiesintheworld.Hence,explainthenatureofextensionisthe
keytaskforKanttobuildthefoundationsofmodernscience.OnlyinthiswaycanCritiqueofPureReason
succeedinitseffortstoestablishafoundationforsciencebyaddressingthequestionofhowsyntheticapri-
oripropositionsarepossible.Kant’saccountsofspatialitybasesonhisdoctrineofsubstanceandattribute,
andcorrelatetohisdoctrineoflight(orether).Kantregardsspatialityasthepredicableattributeofsub-
stance,whichisproducedbyinteractingnon-localitybetweensubstances.AccordingtoKant,extensionin
notapropertyabstractfromexperience,whileitsoccurrenceonouroutersensereceivingtheeffectfrom
ether(etheristhemediumtopropagatetheinformationfromthing-in-itselftoouroutersenseorgans)to
attainthematterofspatialrepresentation.TheetherproofsinOpuspostumumindicatethatKantuseslo-
calcausalitytoexplainhowetherpropagatetheinformationfromthing-in-itself.Kant’sexplanationon
spatialityisthestrangemixtureoflocalcausalityandnon-localcausality.ThisleadstoKant’sfailurein

processofruraltourismdevelopment,thecultivationanddevelopmentofcompetingrelationshipsamong
ruraltourismcommunitiesinChinaarestillfacingvariouspracticaldifficulties,whichthreatentheestab-

analysisofconflictsofinterestsamongvarioussymbioticunitsandtheirreasonsintheprocessofChina’s
ruralcommunitytourismdevelopment,thispapertriestoconstructamodelofthesustainablesymbiotic
competingrelationshipofthemultiplesubjectsintheruraltourismcommunitywithanaimatenhancing
theefficacyofruralgovernance.Researchfindingsindicatethatthesymbioticrelationshipswithinthe
Tianlongtunpucommunityarecurrentlylooseandlacksufficientsystemicstability,characterizedbyanep-
isodicsymbioticorganizationalpattern.Thestiffeningofthesymbioticinterfacefurtherresultsinuneven
energytransmissionandallocationamongsymbioticentities,displayingatypicalpatternofasymmetric
mutualisticsymbiosis.Therefore,evolvingfromasymmetricsymbiosistowardssymmetricsymbiosisand
establishinganintegratedmutualisticsymbioticdevelopmentplatform(network)forsymbioticunitsis
consideredtheoptimaldirectionforthefuturedevelopmentoftheTianlongtunputourismcommunity.Mo-
reover,theessenceofsymbioticrelationshipsinruraltourismcommunitiesliesinthemutualisticrelation-
shipsamongsymbioticunits.Theabilitytopossessastable,diverse,interdependent,andco-evolving
symbioticinterfaceisacriticalfoundationfortheevolutionofsymbioticrelationshipsamongstakeholders
towardsanintegratedmodel.Addressingthedisorderinruralpublicspacesrequirestheestablishmentofa
“onecore,twolayers,threestages”dual-cyclenetworkgovernancemodel.“Onecore”referstothethree
coreproductiveorganizations,namelylocalgovernment,communityresidents,andtourismenterprises.
“Twolayers”pertaintothetwolevelsofsymbioticunitsintheruraltourismcommunity:coreproductive
organizationsandnon-coreproductiveorganizations.“Threestages”denotethethreemajorstagesofthee-
volutionofthesystemicsymbioticunitsfromasymmetricmutualisticrelationshipstowardsasymmetrical
integratedmutualisticsymbioticmodel.
Thispaperidentifiesandanalyzesthesymbioticrelationshipbetweenthesymbioticunitsofinterestin
theruraltourismcommunity,whichcanprovideabasicideaforsolvingthecontradictionbetweenthe

hasemergedasasignificantformofICHpreservation,whereexperienceco-creationplaysacrucialrolein
enhancingvisitorvalueandpromotingthedisseminationofintangibleheritage.Buildinguponexistingliter-
atureandon-siteinterviews,thispaperproposesadefinitionofexperienceco-creationinintangiblecultural
heritagetourismfromadualperspectiveofbehaviorandpsychology.Itisvisitors’utilizingtheirownre-
sourcestoengageinICHactivities,integratingtheirresourceswiththoseofotheractors,andassessing
theirowncontributionsthroughcollaborativeeffortswithotheractors.Thisdefinitionretainsthetradi-
tionalemphasisonvisitorparticipationandinteractionsamongactorswhileincorporatingvisitors’psycho-
logicalexperiencesduringresourceinput,aidinginunderstandingthecomplexityandcomprehensiveness
ofco-creatingtourismexperienceswithintangibleheritage.
Basedoninterviewdata,utilizingthethree-levelcodingprocessofGroundedTheory,thestructural
dimensionsofco-creatingintangibleheritagetourismexperienceswereidentifiedtoincludeinterpersonal
interactions,perceptionofcontribution,co-production,andprocesscontrol,formingamulti-dimensional
conceptwithrichconnotations.Amongthesedimensions,interpersonalinteractionsandco-productionre-
presentthebehavioralmanifestationsofco-creatingintangibleheritagetourismexperiences,whilepercep-
tionofcontributionandprocesscontrolsignifythepsychologicalsentimentsofvisitorsengaginginco-crea-
tingtheseexperiences.Followingrigorousscaledevelopmentprocedures,ascaleconsistingof4factorsand

7itemswasdeveloped,anddataanalysisindicatedthescale’ssoundreliabilityandvalidity.Furthermore,
byselectingvisitorexperiencevalueastheoutcomevariable,thispaperrevealsasignificantpositiveimpact
ofco-creatingintangibleheritagetourismexperiencesonvisitorexperiencevalue,suggestingthatvisitors
withmorepositiveattitudesandevaluationstowardsco-creationactivitiesaremoreinclinedtoconnectthe
spiritandculturalsymbolsofintangibleheritagewiththeirself-awareness,therebyattaininghigher
tourismexperiencevalue.
Incomparisontoexistingscalesfortourismexperienceco-creation,thescaledevelopedinthispaper
encompassesbothbehavioralandpsychologicalaspectsofco-creation,presentingamorestructuredframe-
